*Note: This was written by lawyers. Basically, our message is this… We have no intent to market you to others, nor do we have the intent to market others to you. Any information you provide is only to be used within the narrow range of choosing the scholarship winner, and making payment to the institution, nothing else. If you see anything that indicates otherwise below, please notify us and we will endeavor to modify the wording to reflect our philosophy. To put it another way,

  • we will not promote our business on the applicant’s social profile​ or website
  • we will not use the applicant’s essay responses for our own marketing or promotional purposes 
  • we will not require you to sign up for a service or list in order to apply
  • we will not collect survey data

Use of Personal Data
Limo Services in Maine (“us” or “we”), is committed to respecting the privacy rights of its applicants, visitors, and other users of the Limo Services in Maine website (the “Site”). This Privacy Notice applies to users or individuals who use the Site (“you”) and is to provide you with information concerning each of our privacy policies and to help you understand how we handle personal information about you which we may collect and disclose. This Privacy Notice applies to our current applicants, former applicants, new and registered users and applicants.
We created this Website Privacy Notice (the “Privacy Notice”) to give you confidence as you visit and use the Site, and to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and the protection of privacy. We may use the information we collect from you for any of the following purposes: (1) to deliver scholarship search results to you; (2)  to contact you in connection with the scholarship;

Information Sharing
We may disclose the information collected from and about you as follows: (1) to fulfill your requests for products and services, including your requests for information about the scholarship; (2) to our service providers, to perform a non marketing business, professional or technical support function for us; (3) if we believe that there has been a violation of our Site Terms of Use or of our rights or the rights of any third party; (4) to respond to judicial process and provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law, or otherwise as required by law; (5) otherwise as required or permitted by law. For example, nonpublic personal information about you may be shared with non-affiliated third parties (the university) as necessary to comply with issuing the scholarship award.

Note to Parents and Children under 14
We are a general audience website, and do not target any of our content specifically at children under 13 years of age. Nor do we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a Site user is under age 13, we will promptly delete any personal information in that user’s account.
Security
Access to nonpublic personal information about you is limited to those employees and third parties who work on our behalf, who need to know such information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Correcting/Updating Personal Information
If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove your personal data. This can be done by updating your E-Profile on the website. Because we want to protect you from the loss, misuse and/or alteration of the information under our control, we have authorized only you to update your profile. Please respect this security measure and refrain from sharing your password information to another party. You are responsible for all use of the Site accessed through your username and password.
Notification of Changes
We may change this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will provide the appropriate online notice to you on our website if the change is not material. If the change is material, we will notify you in writing or post such changes.

The subject matter for the written submission has no minimum or maximum word length or even format:



  • Question: The winner will be chosen based on creative quality, so the more original and engaging your article, the more likely you will attract the judges appreciation. “Creative humor writing! You want to win this, bad boy? We know you do. The winner will be judged by which entry is the most creative, the most engaging, and the one with the biggest bribe for the judges (Lawyer’s Edit: NO! NO! No bribes!) Fine. No bribes, but creative and engaging writing. While you’re at it, make it funny! We want laugh out loud funny. We want to make Carl from Accounts laugh so hard that milk shoots from his nose. Only the best will do that because we don’t think he’s had milk since 1982.What do you write? How about you tell us about the time your picked up a hitchhiker on his way to Seattle to start a band and you said “A cool name is Nirvana!”? How about that you drove up in a ride so fly that a priest used the Lord’s name in vain? You could also share some travel “life hacks” you know. For instance, did you know if it’s your birthday most airlines will let you exit the plane via the inflatable slide? How about a historical “fact”? Did you know that in his second flight The Wright Brother’s almost crashed because someone in economy didn’t put their tray table up?Bring the funny, keep it original, and make our judges laugh till they make that gross dry heaving sound.

    Scholarship Details: "Maine Limousine Scholarship" 2017 is open to all.
    Application Deadline: Tuesday, December 30 2017 at 11:59 PM EDT
    Number of Recipients: One award offered annually.
    Award Amount: $1000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited post secondary institution of higher education attended by the recipient. (Once he/she has enrolled in an accredited post secondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor). The scholarship prize recipient must submit proof of enrollment on or before Dec. 31, 2020.
    Requirements:

    • Must be 15 years of age or older at time of application.

    • Must be enrolled by 2020 in an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution of higher learning or seminary.

    • Must post the application on a social media site with a link to our site at https://limoservicesinmaine.com

    • In lieu of an essay, you can post a funny picture on Instagram that you took yourself and link it to https://limoservicesinmaine.com

    Contest Rules

    • We will begin collecting entries now.

    • All entries must be received by 11:59pm on December 30th, 2017.

    • Your article must be primarily formatted in plain text. Limited HTML is permitted is emphasis of text (such as italics, underline or bolding), lists and hyperlinks.

    • Your ability to follow directions will determine application viability.

    • There is no required major, race, residency or minimum GPA. We want to encourage all minds to grow. If you will apply, we will read.

    • Each entry must be unique. Anything previously unpublished or published elsewhere will be assumed to be plagiarism and disqualify the entry.

    • We reserves the right to reject or edit any entry, for any reason including: black hat techniques, use of profanity, plagiarism, obvious spam, etc.

    • In the event of a judges’ tie, the tie-breaker will be the entry with the most traffic.

    • You agree that your submission has not been published elsewhere and grant Limo Services in Maine non-exclusive, ongoing rights to publish and promote the article in any format it chooses, however we have no current plans to promote any individual scholarship.

    • The final winner will be announced on or around January 20th 2018.

    • Limo Services in Maine reserves the right to change or cancel this contest at any time and for any reason.

    • You are responsible for ensuring you can claim the prizes, and understand that we reserve the right to modify the prizes for any non-US resident winner if appropriate.

    • Prizes are not transferable without express permission.We will not pick you up in a limousine unless you are within 60 minutes from Walker's Point, in which case we will gladly offer a three hour Limousine ride to your destination of choice but absent that, we will only mail the check.
